Best Computer Software 2010

What is the best anti-virus software out to date (September 23, 2010)?

Please let me know in your opinion, what is the best anti-virus. I use my computer for surfing the web and college work. I just want an good anti-virus, I’ve been using McAfee for the past 3 months (it was the free trial that came on my net book and it worked fine I guess, I just want something better. My step mom loves Norton but I don’t know if its the best. I also kinda glanced at AVG anti-virus 9.0 and again I’m not sure so just give me you opinion and thanks…..oh and please leave a link.

Avast is one of the Top FREE AV products…and along with Malwarebytes anti-malware and Super anti-spyware on your computer…it gives you a pretty darn good protection package..

Do not look at either Norton (System Hog)…..Trend Micro (not very good ratings/many false positives)…or McAfee ( Not very good ratings…

The answer above me ..has no idea what he’s talking about Norton is made by their parent company Symantec and not Microsoft……so much for being a computer expert….lmao
