If you buy a computer, do you legally own the software on it?

My computer has a legitimate copy of a piece of software and they now offer a discounted fee for upgrade clients. Can I use it even though I didn’t buy the original?

you should be eligible for the discount because you are paying for the software as well as their computer. they’ll probably ask you for a cd key or proof of purchase though, and if you can’t provide it you’re out of luck.

also, you never own software when you buy it, you are only buying the right to use their software
