Question about using my webcam for security purposes.?
I have my webcam set up in my kitchen window overlooking my backyard. We have bike thieves that are stripping our kids blind of their bikes 2 in the last 3 weeks. How do i set my webcam on my computer to run while im at work and keep a running video of what it sees. Then when i come home, i can just go back and review the video if another bike gets stolen. What software is easiest.
Recording an entire day’s worth of video will take very large hard drives.
Have a go with a ‘motion detection’ software, and cut this down dramatically:
“Secure Cam is a motion detecting web cam surveillance software that can automatically capture a series of images whenever motion is detected in the monitored area. You can adjust the detection sensitivity, automatically archive captured still images and playback the images in sequence with the supplied viewer application. Secure Cam can monitor and display up to 99 cameras…”
Freeware.
